Renowned as the jewel of the Amalfi Coast, Positano has been welcoming the rich and famous for centuries, all enchanted by the town’s pretty rainbow-coloured houses sitting on a cliff above the sea. With its enviable position along the winding road that connects Sorrento and Amalfi, it is easy to explore all the many villages and little towns scattered along this coastal route, many of which can also be reached by hydrofoil, including the islands of Capri and Ischia.

Perched on a steep hillside above the sandy beach of Positano, Palazzo Santa Croce is the ultimate luxury retreat on the Amalfi Coast. Dating back to the 1700s, this magnificent Baroque-style villa rental is situated a 10/15-minute walk from the town centre with its lovely boutiques, artisans stores and an endless choice of restaurants and cafes.

Decorated by the best craftsmen, the property has been painstakingly renovated preserving the original features such as the lacquered doors, painted ceilings and stucco works. This luxury villa is a haven of relaxation with its enchanting panoramic terraces, roof garden planted with citrus trees and a private spa with heated pool, fountain, contra-flow jets and massage whirlpool. Breakfast is served each morning with a selection of exquisite homemade delicacies and the villa chef is at your disposal throughout the day to prepare lunches or dinners to be enjoyed on the panoramic terrace.

The bedrooms are laid out over multiple levels; the two master suites are on the first floor, both decorated in Baroque style with antique furnishings, spacious sitting areas, private balconies and ensuite bathrooms. On the top level, there are two double-bedroom suites with queen-size beds sharing a bathroom and a small single bedroom with its own ensuite.

Access to the villa is through a scenic walking path (10-min walk - 190 steps) but guests can also use a public elevator leaving from the Amalfi Drive and operating between 8am and midnight.
