The medieval fortress, enotecas, and ancient lanes of Montalcino are minutes away, offering a compact and characterful hill town to explore at leisure. The Romanesque Abbey of Sant'Antimo — whose monks still chant Gregorian offices in a church of honey-coloured travertine, set amid olive groves in a valley below the town — lies within 20 minutes to the south. From the estate, the Val d'Orcia UNESCO World Heritage Site stretches east through Pienza and San Quirico d'Orcia, with Siena to the north drawing visitors for its art, architecture, and the famous Campo.
The 8 rooms are distributed across 2 floors of the villa, each named for a figure or place connected to the estate's past and furnished with antique pieces, original artworks, and handmade Tuscan mattresses; travertine bathrooms with walk-in showers serve each room, and communal spaces include a library and an art gallery. As a boutique hotel offered on a full buyout, the property is staffed by a resident team for a set portion of each day: during these hours, house cooks offer a full breakfast and can prepare traditional Tuscan menus from organic, locally sourced produce, and hotel services — housekeeping and reception — are in operation. The rooms, gardens, pool, and grounds are exclusively the guests' own around the clock; the kitchen and food service operate within the staffed period only.
