The Valle d'Itria is one of Puglia's most distinctive landscapes, its shallow valley scattered with the conical stone rooftops of trulli that have shaped this corner of Italy since the Middle Ages. Cisternino itself — one of the region's most celebrated borghi, its whitewashed lanes and flower-hung balconies giving way to trattorias serving roasted meats from the traditional fornelli — is around 7 minutes by car. Locorotondo, with its circular historic centre and DOC white wine, is around 12 minutes; Alberobello's UNESCO-listed trulli landscape around 25 minutes; and Ostuni, the White City, around the same distance in the other direction. The nearest beach is around 15 minutes away, with the sandy bays and beach clubs of the Fasano coastline within around 20 minutes.
The interiors draw on the energy and materiality of the Apulian countryside — white local stone, vaulted trullo ceilings, and contemporary furnishings by an architect whose approach favours luminous lightness and restraint over ornament. The main building centres on a living room with sofa area and dining table, connected to the outdoors through a covered dehor with sliding glass panels that allows the space to be enjoyed in all seasons.
