Masseria San Giovanni is a 19th-century fortified farmhouse set among ancient olive groves in the Itria Valley, between Fasano and the Adriatic coast of Puglia. The property comprises 14 rooms and suites, and sits within the Regional Park of Dune Costiere, with Brindisi Airport at 35 minutes and Bari Airport approximately 1 hour away by car.
The beaches of Savelletri and Torre Canne are a short drive along the coast, whilst the whitewashed hilltop town of Ostuni and the trulli of Alberobello — both icons of the Valle d'Itria — are within 30 minutes. Monopoli, with its harbour and baroque old town, and Polignano a Mare, perched above the Adriatic on its limestone cliffs, are within easy reach for an afternoon of wandering; further south, the Baroque city of Lecce rewards a full day of exploration among its carved limestone churches and palazzi. Boat trips along the Apulian coastline, horseback riding through the countryside, and cycling routes through working farms and wheat fields can all be arranged.
The masseria's architecture retains the solid, self-contained character of the traditional fortified farmhouse, with a consecrated church on the grounds that provides an intimate setting for weddings and private celebrations. The property features 6 room categories, from classic double rooms to suites with private terraces and outdoor Jacuzzis, and junior suites with in-room Jacuzzis and canopy beds — each individually appointed with a combination of Apulian tradition and contemporary design. An olive oil mill on the estate reflects the masseria's agricultural heritage, and the kitchen draws on zero-kilometre produce and seasonal ingredients, served at breakfast and lunch with house-made cakes, local cheeses, and cured meats. Daily continental breakfast is included for all guests.
The outdoor swimming pool — 3 metres wide and 25 metres long — sits at the centre of the grounds, providing ample space for swimming under the Apulian sun, with an outdoor shower nearby. The estate's olive groves extend across the surrounding landscape. Olive oil tastings and a range of guided excursions — boat trips, cycling tours, horseback riding, and cultural day trips — can be arranged.
The property is available for exclusive hire for larger groups and private events.
