Once the home of a renowned Italian playwright, Villa Fornillo carries a creative heritage that still colours its atmosphere today. From here, the Amalfi Coast reveals itself at its most magnetic. Positano's cascade of pastel-coloured houses tumbles toward the water below, and the days take on a rhythm of their own: morning coffee on the terrace as fishing boats set out from the harbour, a late-morning walk down to Fornillo Beach, lunch at a waterfront restaurant as the sea glitters in the afternoon light.
