The ancient Greek Theatre—one of the most dramatically positioned in the Mediterranean—sits just minutes from the villa, its tiered stone seating framing a panorama of sea and volcano that has barely changed since the 3rd century BC. Below, the Corso Umberto unfolds through the historic centre with its mix of artisan shops, trattorias, and café terraces where the evening passeggiata is still a daily ritual. The seaside town of Giardini Naxos, site of the first Greek colony in Sicily, offers a long sandy beach along a lively promenade, while the nature reserve of Isola Bella—a jewel-like islet reached by a narrow strip of sand—is accessible by cable car from Taormina. Day trips to Mount Etna take around 45 minutes, and excursions by boat along the coast, guided hikes on the volcano's upper slopes, private cooking classes, and in-villa chef services can all be arranged.
