Immersed in the breath-taking Val d'Orcia region, the beautiful walled town of Montalcino is renowned all over the world for the production of its precious Brunello red wine. With views of rolling sunny hills, picturesque olive groves and scenic country roads winding through perfect vineyards, the panorama that can be admired from the town is absolutely unique as are the many villages scattered on the surroundings hill, perfect for daytrips exploring Tuscany’s less crowded wine region.
A place for those seeking refinement, relaxation and peace, Relais Mastrojanni is nestled in the hills of southern Tuscany, in a place redolent with the history of ancient Italy. Nearby passes the Via Francigena, the sole pilgrimage route from northern Europe to Rome, the centre of the Christian world. From the time of Charlemagne onward, the emperors of the Holy Roman Empire, the kings and popes, nobles, cardinals, and the peoples of all kinds, have visited the territories of Montalcino.
In 2011, the Illy Group began a complex program of architectural renovations for development of the Relais Mastrojanni. The ancient walls of the farmhouse housing the Relais have carefully been restored with elegant simplicity, creating bright rooms with clean, modern lines and soft colours.
Completed in 2019, the Relais offers 11 individually designed rooms ranging from the Deluxe and Premier rooms to Junior Suites and Suites. Each room has a unique floor plan and exposure, and all enjoy splendid views of the Val d’Orcia and of the Mastrojanni vineyards. The onsite restaurant serves mainly seasonal cuisine, exploring the terroir using only local products. From the restaurant’s panoramic windows, you can enjoy a special view of the vineyards and forest. A refined relaxation area inside the borgo completes the hospitality proposal of Relais Mastrojanni. Overlooking the Brunello vineyards, the wellness centre includes a mini pool with emotional hydromassage, a sensory shower with essences, a massage chair, a sauna and a Turkish bath, all complimentary for the Relais' guests all year round.
